Before & After Bobbi Brown…

Hello! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Aside from having to work on a group paper/presentation, I had a very fabulous weekend. The weather was great AND I got to do one of my favorite things, have my makeup done!!! (long post to follow)

This weekend my girlfriends and I had our makeup done at the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstroms. I know, many of my friends and family who read this blog are like, “why didn’t you tell me?” I DON’T KNOW! Forgive me.

Here’s the thing about Bobbi Brown, I like her because she’s the foundation for a great face. They don’t follow the MAC philosophy of if you can paint a butterfly on your face, do it. Instead Bobbi wants to enhance the natural beauty of a woman (I’ve read her books, I know this to be true). I will say that I do go outside of the Bobbi box for color because she is very neutral, but I figured I’d go to the event to have them show me a more subtle yet fabulous me.

Each of us had an idea of what we wanted in mind. Jessica wanted a glowing bronzy boho look and she wanted great glossy lips, Shunda wanted to see what the neutrals palette would look like on her but add a little bit of color and I was down for whatever, but immediately fell for a lavendar shadow I saw and wanted to see how they applied it. The before and after’s of each of us are below, along with what they did:
Before & After
Jessica’s makeover: They used the Tinted Moisturizing Balm on Jessica since she said her skin is dry. It gave her this gorgeous dewy effect that made one woman say, “your skin looks like butter…wow!” She was absolutely glowing! And her lips were glossy goodness, thanks to Spun Gold Shimmer lipgloss. She bought almost everything they applied but as fab as she looked, it was worth it!

Shunda’s makeover: They used the Nude Lip and Eye palette on her along with Black Plum Shimmer eye shadow. She looked a little sultry if I do say so myself, but yet still suitable for work…gorgeous!

My makeover: I was open to anything and my makeup artist and I chatted about all kinds of makeup. My favorites and her favorites from every brand – by the time we were finished she was asking me why I wasn’t a makeup artist (which is a secret dream of mine)! She used Foundation Stick on me (I’m a big fan of the Tinted Moisturizer) and she did use undereye concealer or Corrector – a nice touch but I don’t have time for all that in the morning. But what I loved was the Lilac Shimmer eye shadow she applied. I thought my eyes popped! My eye are the feature I love to play up the most and she definitely showed me a new way to emphasize them. I owned almost everything she put on me, so I just had to buy the shadows (Lilac and Cocoa) and the Lip Shimmer in Sand Pink (which was light but looked good).

Overall, a great weekend. I’d definitely recommend for anyone to sign up when they have the free makeovers. You aren’t obligated to buy anything but usually you look so fabulous that you buys lots. At Bobbi they even kept on file everything that was recommended so that I can come back for more.

What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday aftternoon with your girlfriends.

Feeling pretty.

How dare you not tell me and Amelia about this! You’re dead to me; dead, I say.

I second Ari’s comment you could have told a number of folks about this event.
