I rarely talk about hair care products on the blog because I rarely change my styling routine. I have a lot of thick, coarse hair that needs a lot of moisturization (you’ve got to preserve your sexy and moisturize your situation). I never understand the directions on a bottle of conditioner when they say use a quarter sized (or heaven forbid a dime sized) amount of conditioner…for what? My sideburns?
I’m the kind of girl who deep conditions every week (and I only wash my hair once a week) because my hair needs it. I use A LOT of conditioner and my hair soaks it up like a sponge.
As I was running through Bath and Body Works to buy my Refresh-Mints body wash (I bought the Lemon Mint by the way) I saw that they had Mint shampoo and conditioner too. Normally I’d pass because I doubt it’s enough for my hair, but they were 2 for $10 (normally $12 a bottle each) and I just can’t pass up a bargain.
Oh I am so glad I bought these. Can I tell you how wonderful the tingling sensation was after I put the conditioner in my hair and let it sit while I shaved my legs? It felt like a great scalp massage when they wash your hair at the salon. I didn’t want to rinse it out, but then I discovered that minty tingle lingered on the scalp after you rinsed. I followed up my shampoo and condition process with my normal hair routine: spray with leave-in conditioner, apply Carol’s Daughter Hair Balm and blow dry. Same shiny black bob as always.
Maybe I should step out of my hair care comfort zone more often.
Peppermint rocks!
