Friday’s Fabulousness…

It’s the first fabulousness of the year! HOT DAMN! Can you tell I’m in a good mood? I’m so happy that it’s Friday! So on to the fabulousness…

Since my mother upgraded my makeup brushes for Christmas, it only felt right for me to indulge myself in a little post Christmas beauty purchase.

I knew as soon as I saw the Bobbi Brown Bright Eyes Palette I was going to want it and I had to get it. 35 matte eye shadows in a wonderful spectrum of colors. FAB.U.LOUS.NESS!

The palette fits in the palm of your hand, so understand that the shadows are just big enough to swipe your brush in them (I wish they were just slightly larger). What I love about this palette is that you’re getting Bobbi Brown Cosmetics goodness, but not in her traditional neutral palette. I had been secretly asking the Beauty Gods to send me some more color via Bobbi Brown and they finally answered my prayers. I will admit, the palette is $70, but with 35 different colors, you’re actually packing about $2 a shadow – and that’s not a bad deal.

I totally love this palette and I can’t wait to try every single shade. Besides, the wonderful pops of color help brighten your mood during this winter yuck. And, color on the eyes is going to be big for spring!

Happy Friday everybody! I hope you have a fabulous weekend.
XOXO,

Since you secretly aspire to be a make-up artisit (which I totally think you should do, by the way), I have a question about eyeshadow application. I don’t think I ever really got down how to apply colors. I can handle neutrals, but how should color eyeshadows be applied so that they look nice? I’ve seen some people who apply and wear colors really well and some people who look like clowns and make me very scared to try color eyeshadows! Also, are there certain colors that people of certain complexions should avoid or is it all about blending properly? I hope my question isn’t too long for a comment…perhaps I should have sent you a message :) . Oh well!

Thanks for the long comment/question :) How about this, I’ll make your question a Wednesday’s Woe? And I’ll give you lots of answers. I do not-so-secretly want to be a makeup artist but I’m too scared to take that leap of faith. Maybe one day…
