Lipstain Lust…

A while ago, I mentioned how I’m obsessed with Anne Hathaway’s perfectly stained pout. I’m going to be honest, it haunts me. I’ve always wanted to have that perfect shade that looks like my lips but better and in everything she does her lips look beautifully matte and gorgeous.

I learned last year to never say never and although I’ve tried lots of lipstains in the past, I had kind of sworn them off. Then everyone was buzzing about the Cover Girl Outlast Lipstains and I was not trying to believe the hype. Plus, I couldn’t find them online or in stores yet, until last week…

Of course my shiny, brand spanking new Target down the road had every single color. So I picked up two at $7.50 a piece to try them out (I picked up Cinnamon Smile and Plum Pout) and I am so glad I did!

The things that I’ve hated in the past about lipstains are that they’re super funky to put on since they’re in a liquid form, they feel really dry when applied and half the time the color looks a bit blotchy because you only get a flimsy brush in the bottle to apply it with. Well Cover Girl must’ve heard everyone’s complaints because these nifty little pens apply evenly, smoothly and they’re not dry at all. Plus the color is really vibrant (note: just make sure to exfoliate your lips before you apply a stain, otherwise it’ll settle in the cracks…not sexy). I swiped a little gloss on top after I applied the stain for added color and shine. The stain lasted through my morning coffee and a croissant until about lunch time. I’m totally getting closer to that perfect stained lip look I’m so envious of in Anne Hathaway. I just need a bit more time and practice.

This just might make me fall back in love with drugstore brands again. Thanks Cover Girl!
