For 2009 I’m starting a new feature for the blog called The Art of… I don’t know how often I’ll run it (perhaps I’ll start off monthly?) but it’s going to be the same 7 questions this year that I ask various people (fellow bloggers, beauty mavens, regular folks, etc). So for the first one in the series, I’ll answer the questions myself and feel free to answer them as well in the comments section and let me know what you think about this new feature.

What’s your favorite color?
Green! In every shade it comes in. I’ve loved it since I knew what colors were.
What are your 3 favorite accessories and why?
- My wedding ring: it’s probably the most precious thing I own.
- My blinged out Swarovski crystal heart pendant – it’s fabulous in so many ways and you can wear it with anything.
- My bangs. I took the plunge in December and added bangs to my bob on a suggestion that my hubby made (and after reading Isaac Mizrahi’s book) and I love it!
What is the one accessory you can’t live without?
My husband. I think he’s probably my best accessory…mushy I know but very true. Plus he’s super cute!
What’s your style inspiration?
Color. I love color and bold patterns so I tend to get influenced by a shade each season. Last season it was deep magenta, now I’m starting to lean a bit towards teals and greens for spring.
What do you splurge on?
I’m pretty much a bargain shopper on most things in life, but I love to splurge on spas treatments. I always try to go to a new spa when I go on vacation and I’ve started to drag my husband along. I love to get a hot stone massage and a really wonderful manicure and pedicure. It’s about taking care of myself on the outside and giving myself a few hours of calm and relaxation for the inside too. It’s always worth the cost…always.
What is your favorite gift to give?
I love personalized gifts and I love things that are monogrammed or have something about the person in the gift. One of my favorite gifts I ever gave were custom Nike Presto sneakers for my bridesmaids. I picked their favorite colors and had the nicknames I called them inscribed on the back.
What are you currently obsessed with?
I’m very obsessed with sewing right now and trying to get my technique better. I bought some wonderful fabric at Mood when I was in NYC and I have a great pattern for a wrap dress that I can’t wait to try to make. I’m hoping to get good enough to really make nice things for my wardrobe.
