Some of you may not know this about me, but I’m addicted to paper. I am and always have been. I remember attempting to make a dress out of paper when I was about 6 years old. I even recently completed a master’s degree in Publishing, so I’m sure you understand I love all paper, books, publishing…anything paper related. But I’ve also gone happily over to the digital side (this blog is a product of my graduate school project) and I’m finally giving in and want the Kindle.
What is a Kindle you ask? It is the iPod of book readers.
Amazon.com just released the second version of the Kindle on Monday and I’m more willing to drop the $350 on this piece of fashionable technology because it’s gotten a sexy little makeover! It’s as thin as a magazine, holds up to 1,500 books and boasts the 3G network to download publications. Hot damn!
Clearly I’m into anything that is compact and can be easily thrown in my handbag without added bulk right now (Hello, TamTam!). I’ve played with the older version of a Kindle before and I’m leaning towards going totally digital. I’m pretty sure my bookcases would love me for it.
