I was asked my thoughts about Maybelline XXL Extension XX-Treme Length Microfiber Mascara a while ago by a reader. Microfiber mascaras were the new hottest trend to make lashes look longer and I could understand the curiosity.
So what are my thoughts on Maybelline’s XXL Extension XX-Treme Length Microfiber Mascara? Aside from the name being long as hell, this mascara is not for those that want a quick routine. This is a two step mascara, which I don’t mind at all. You have to understand that the best part of my morning routine is the beauty part so I don’t mind an extra step or adding something else. This Maybelline mascara has a side with primer and a side with the mascara. I have to admit, I do like mascara primer. It really does seem to prep your lashes for what’s coming next.
I apply a good coat of primer which helps to straighten out my tangle of lashes and is almost like curling them in my book. Then you swipe on the mascara itself. I have to admit, I feel like my lashes are sinfully long with this mascara. Seriously. I always feel like primer also helps to make my lashes appear a bit more voluminous as well. If you’re looking to add length to your lashes, this one will definitely do it, but it will also add time to your routine. A two step mascara is not one that you can just swipe on and go, you have to apply the primer carefully and make sure that you coat your lashes thoroughly on the second step so that you don’t have left over primer showing.

I tried this back in the day and let me tell you…it.sucks. the only mascara i have ever really liked, from wet and wild to the most expensive sephora one, is maybelline lash stilletto. it’s awesome!
