Yesterday was my beloved Wednesday off and I got a pretty fragrant package in the mail. My friends over at QVC scent me a free sample of the fabulous makeup artist Mally Roncal’s newest fragrance! She’s debuting the fragrance tonight on QVC at 8pm but I’m giving you my preview review right here.

First the details:
Top Note: Sampaguita, Mandarin, Red Currant, Bamboo, Palm Leaf
Middle Note: Freesia, Jasmine, Muguet, Peony
Base Note: Peach, Coconut, Sandalwood, Musks

One of the top notes, the Sampaguita flower, is the national flower of the Phillippines, which pays homage to her heritage and it leaves a tropical feeling to the scent. For me, I either love a scent or a I don’t. I also realize I go one of two ways, I either love citrus scents or scents that are very heavy and slightly seductive. This scent actually seems to merge the two very nicely. It isn’t too heavy, but I feel a very soft yet crisp citrus note to it. It’s very tropical, and really the word that comes to mind when I sprayed it is sensuous.

The true test on whether or not this scent was a keeper was my husband. I purposely sprayed it on before I picked him up from the train station last night. I didn’t say anything or hint to a new perfume and when he got in the car he kissed me and said, “oh wow, what is that scent? That’s like heaven.” And then he kissed me again and breathed in deeply.

I’m sold.
