This post is for all my Twitter friends and social media enthusiasts. My name is DWJ and I’m “ultra-chic and uber-geek.” I’ve seen the Twitter tees with cute sayings, the ones with everyone who follows you on them and the very quirky Twitter thigh highs. Even though I love Twitter, my blog and the internet in general, I haven’t found the need to buy into any of that stuff. I just didn’t want folks to know my geek status was that high…and then I got an email from Survival of the Hippest and all of that changed.

If you’re on Twitter, you want have to get one of these! In about 2 weeks you’ll get the ultimate social media status symbol and it might help when people know you online but don’t really know what you look like in person and they’re meeting you for the first time. It’s a great way to identify yourself!

You have options of silver or gold and even adding diamonds. I opted for silver with a little diamond for @theaofa – I knew as soon as I saw this product I was going to buy it. In fact, I don’t think I’ve responded to an email for the blog that quickly. I knew this was going to be hot and I had to have it. Prices start at $49 and I would suggest getting the longer chain so that it hangs nicely. I could gush over this for days and everyone that’s seen me wearing it has thought it was the cutest thing ever and so cool.

I have always liked my initials. In high school I always used my middle initial when I signed my name or wrote my name on any papers I turned in. When I got married my friend Jaci was the person that started calling me DWJ and it stuck. I love initials. They’re so individual and personal.

I also love the idea of this Sterling Silver Hand-Cut Block Initial Ring (3 Letters) from Zales. It’s a custom piece that really says who you are. I don’t have a ton of things with DWJ on them, but I would definitely love this piece. I have a thing for statement rings and what’s a better statement to make that one about yourself? I think it’s also a great signature piece that you can always wear, an updated signature ring. Very classic and cool but now with a more custom and personal twist.

I may need to send this post to my Hubby as a hint for my birthday in August, what do you think?

Ever since I saw a special on the Style Network years ago about custom makeup, I knew I would LOOOOVE 3 Custom Color Specialist. I was super excited when I got a chance to meet them briefly at the Makeup Show and they made the mistake of saying, “Come by the studio! We love to meet bloggers.” That was all I needed to hear. So when I went up to NYC the other day for business and blogger errands, I had to add 3 Custom Color to my list.

That’s me with Chad, on of the three founders, a fabulous person who gave me a tour of their studio and he was my color specialist of the day. So I know what you all want to know is why do I adore 3 Custom. There are three main reasons:

1. They have so many options! There are over 250 products in their online store and they cover every end of the spectrum. If you’re fair, olive skinned, light, dark brown, hell, purple…they’ve got you covered. They break it down into cool skin tones versus warm so you can always find a color that suits you. Their concealer/foundation is magnificent (more about that in another post) and they are always coming up with new collections with innovative colors. Plus, the quality is fantastic.
2. They custom blend makeup! On top of their extensive ready to wear products, they can custom blend blush, eye shadow, brow powder, pressed or loose powder, lipstick or lip gloss. More about this in a second…I heart anything that you can customize and custom makeup is at the top of my list.
3. They make their own recipes & their archives are huge! They have an archive of discontinued lipsticks/lip glosses or if you have just a little bit of your favorite special edition gloss left that you love you can send it in and they can recreate it for you! HOW GENIUS?! Have a lipstick you love but wish it was sheer? They can do that and then they’ll save your recipe for you to order again and again.

Now because I love 3 Custom so much, I can’t do one long post, I have to talk about some of their other products in other posts, they’re just too fantastic to only talk about once, but I have to share with you what they created for me while I was there.

The very fabulous Chad said he’d love to make me something while I was there and I told him I’m always on a quest for the perfect lip gloss. I wanted something with a strong pink shade a bit of shimmer and a lacquer like finish to it. I want something that lasts after I swipe it on without having to look in a mirror because the color is so fantastic I don’t need liner or a mirror to apply. I’ll know it’s that good. Chad and I picked the perfect shade of raspberry and added dashes of sparkle, shine and a lot of makeup magic to it to create the most perfect shade of pink gloss I’ve ever owned.

And we shall name it...The Art of Accessories!

I know it’s the beginning of the year and a lot of folks think about getting fit and going to the gym. I also seem to head back to yoga class searching for a little bit of peace and a lot of stretching and strengthening of my back every January.

So what is this you ask? And how does it relate to being fit? It’s a yoga mat!Actually…correction a custom yoga mat.

YogaMatic allows you to either choose from one of their designs or upload your own photograph/graphic image to have a custom yoga mat created for you. Since I’m a web/design dork (I secretly want my license plate to say CMYK) I immediately picked the web color palette spectrum as something that would sooth my soul while practicing my downward facing dog. If I designed my own I’m sure I’d create a collage of a ton of images I have in Photoshop of my family and the places we’ve been to make me smile when the yoga instructor is making me sweat.

I know that I’m the kind of girl who wants to have the cutest yoga mat, bags and clothes (you can’t concentrate on your pose when you have visible pantylines, right?!) so this one is right up my alley. Now if I could just get it together with actually following through on my resolutions for 2009…
