I’m not going to lie, I love the month of August because it is my birthday month. YAY! I am a Virgo and I love everything about August, it’s my special month. And because my birthday isn’t until the 30th I have all month to dream about gifts I would want and things I can suggest to my husband.

Now we’re on a super tight budget, I know. And I got Pierre (my iPad) in May, so really, I don’t deserve/need a big gift but if I had my choice I’d ask for the Sterling Silver Lemon Quartz & Peridot Floral Ring and the Sterling Silver Peridot Bangle Bracelet from Kohl’s. Have I mentioned that my favorite color is green which makes me love my birth stone? I love Peridots almost as much as I love emeralds, but they’re way more economical.

The added bonus by buying both of these items together? Kohl’s is having a buy 1 get 1 for free sale on their website, so my husband/someone could score both of these items for a mere $300. Great, right?

Have you noticed the trend of the two finger rings lately? I have and wasn’t jumping to get one until I saw the Erica Anenberg Love Ring.

Actually, all of her rings and jewelry are pretty dope and there are some affordable pieces in the bunch. Two things I love about a jewelry designer. But I was totally surprised that the two finger rings hooked me.  I’m a sucker for love, so this is the one I immediately was drawn too. The Love Block Twosome ring is a sweet way to wear your heart on your knuckles.

Flowers are great, but they don’t last a long time. So instead of giving your Mom a Mother’s Day bouquet, why not give her flowers in a new way?

Even though I’m 30+ I still love Christmas with my family. This year we did a secret Santa for the first time between the six of us and then there were still a few gifts given as well. Nothing to elaborate or over the top this year, but I did get two fabulous rings from my sister.

My favorite color is green and I have a few pieces of green amber jewelry. I’ve got a great pendant and multi-stone green amber bracelet and my sister Helen gave me this gorgeous green amber ring! I love a great cocktail ring and pieces like this aren’t mass produced so I’m never worried about someone else having a piece like mine.

And my secret Santa was my other sister Anne and she gave me a ring that will go beautifully with my growing peacock collection.

I got a piece of Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow line with this super cool Peacock Ring. I love it! It’s so big and pretty. It’s a perfect cocktail ring. She also gave me a peacock feather bangle (I’ll take a picture of it soon) that looks like a feather is wrapped around the bangle.

What else did I get? A long strand gold bead necklace and bracelet from my husband, a Michael Kors pom pom hat and matching set of gloves, a pair of glittery Converse Chuck Taylors and the book Big Fish (I love the movie because it reminds me of my Dad).

All in all a pretty fantastic Christmas with some great accessories to add to my closet. What did Santa bring you?

I have always liked my initials. In high school I always used my middle initial when I signed my name or wrote my name on any papers I turned in. When I got married my friend Jaci was the person that started calling me DWJ and it stuck. I love initials. They’re so individual and personal.

I also love the idea of this Sterling Silver Hand-Cut Block Initial Ring (3 Letters) from Zales. It’s a custom piece that really says who you are. I don’t have a ton of things with DWJ on them, but I would definitely love this piece. I have a thing for statement rings and what’s a better statement to make that one about yourself? I think it’s also a great signature piece that you can always wear, an updated signature ring. Very classic and cool but now with a more custom and personal twist.

I may need to send this post to my Hubby as a hint for my birthday in August, what do you think?
