Vacation time! I’ve got a long weekend and then taking the entire week off of work. Don’t worry, I’ll be up and blogging next week but most likely not until Wednesday.

It’s also watch time! The husband gave me this really pretty watch necklace for my birthday too. It’s a True Birds Vintage Timepiece Clock and I think it is so cool.

I think I love the back where you can see all the working parts. I was very pleasantly surprised when he handed me this beauty, I think you may see it in a lot of outfits over the next few months.

I’m making this post short, I want to start enjoying a little extended vacation. Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend and I’ll see you guys next week on Wednesday. And if you really miss me, you can always follow me on Twitter.

Yesterday, Jessica from Design Wonderland wrote a post about lace and I was trying to tell her via Twitter about the bib necklace I want. It’s hard to describe in 140 characters or less, so I thought I’d show you.

Lace bibs are a unique way to make a statement. I’d honestly pair this with a white t-shirt and my high waisted black skirt and keep it moving but I think the easiest way to wear it would be with a tank top of a strapless dress to really let the necklace be the statement maker. And I’m pretty sure that the fact that this necklace is green makes me love it even more.

I love a great Friday! Especially today, I have to fly to New Orleans to do a presentation for work, which means I get to have jambalya from Mother’s Restuarant tonight. Pure heaven!

I love the layering of the flowers, the orange, yellow, blue and cream colors – this makes me think of sundresses, fabulous peep toe wedges and the warmth of spring. This piece is truly a charming individual piece that screams romance and because it’s on Etsy, it may be gone very quickly. Definitely check out her shop for other vintage inspired desgins too!

I was browsing Esty.com for gift ideas when I came upon Vieux Bijoux’s store (by way of Sassypant’s blog post). There I found this very quirky and cute Octopus Pearl Necklace. It’s the kind of gift that I wish my husband would somehow stumble upon and buy for me because he knows my style so well, but I know he has no clue what Etsy is and would never contemplate buying me an Octopus (typing that last part of the sentence made me giggle).

If you haven’t browsed Etsy be prepared, there’s a lot on this site! From the creative to the custom there are all kinds of homemade crafts for you to browse. I told my friend Kat about it last week and she already ordered a Christmas gift! They definitely have a little bit of something for everybody.

Nordstroms is stalking me.

No, they aren’t but they sure do know how to draw me back to their store! On Friday I got the accessories and makeup catalog (perhaps they secretly know about my blog…) and I immediately added it to the stack of magazines I read on the side of my bed. One of the first things I saw was this lovely oversized ring. It comes in about 4 different versions, but of course I was drawn to the one with the green in it!

I like it because it seems vintage but there’s something very modern and fresh about it. It just looks cool, do you need any other reason to like it? Buy yourself a spring treat!
