Perfect Your Pout: Rich Color…

Day 3 of Perfect Your Pout and we’re talking about rich colors. What do I mean by rich? I mean saturated, opaque lip color. This is a big beauty trend for a fall and usually the kind of thing that you want to use as the weather gets colder and you don’t want to wear gloss anymore.

A brand spanking new product that is out is Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor. I picked it up on my lunch break last week when CVS was doing a buy 1 get 1 free. I grabbed Madison Mauve, a gorgeously rich purplish berry color. What I like about ColorSensational is that the color saturation is very rich and true. The pigment came out just like it looked in the tube (you know sometimes it’s really sheer or comes off a bit lighter or darker than what you thought). Definitely a great bargain buy.

I could honestly say a million things about Lipstick Queen Sinner Opaque, but I’ve written a previous post on it, so check out my thoughts here. But seriously, it’s the business. If you want rich sinful color – you want this.

If you don’t want to spend the big bucks on Lipstick Queen, might I suggest Revlon Matte? It’s not as creamy as LQ is but boy it gives you fabulously matte lips with heavy color. If you’re going to wear truly matte lipstick and want bold color, you have to make sure that you exfoliate your lips with either a scrub or a wet washcloth and moisturize your lips lightly before applying color. I suggest using Blistex because it will sink into your lips and not sit on top like a waxy balm.

So what are your favorite deep lip colors? Let me know!

  1. The Maybelline lipstick is GREAT! I have Very Cherry in that same line and it’s a dead ringer for MAC Russian Red. I’ve been looking for a good berry shade, I’ll check out Madison Mauve…and I always love some matte lipstick, so I’ll put the Revlon stuff on my list too!
