Translating the Trends: Metallics

translating-the-trends
Translating the Trends is a four part series created by Jessica from Design Wonderland and myself with the hopes of helping our readers with their fall shopping. We’re going to tackle four trends: Ruffles, Gray, Pops of Color and Metallics with posts that show you how to incorporate these trends through accessories or interior styling. For Jessica’s interior styling tips using metallics go to Design Wonderland and to see how I take the inspiration below and translate it, click more.

metallics

Ahhh, metallics. Quite possibly the best trend. Honestly, who doesn’t sparkle and shine? To start off translating this trend I want to talk about one of my FAVORITE ways to incorporate metallics, through eye makeup.
eyeshadow
I am seriously swooning over the Bobbi Brown Metallic Long-Wear Cream Shadow, especially in Antique Gold and Starry Purple. You may remember when I talked about the cream long-wear shadow before…this stuff is MAJOR and now Bobbi Brown has added shimmer to it? HOT DAMN! Wear this alone or add it to a smokey eye and really bring the wow factor. Love it!
truereligion
Why not add a bit of flash to your casual wear with the True Religion Vernon Sequins high tops? Totally sparkly and fun for running weekend errands – I love adding unexpected touches of glitz to everyday wear.
flats
Steve Madden has been hitting a lot of high notes with me lately and the Kazler ballet flat adds multicolored sparkle to your ho-hum work basics or adds pop to your weekend wear.
rachel
Don’t want to be so flashy? Try studs instead of sparkle like with the Rachel Rachel Roy Cross body hobo. Sassy with a bit of edge to it. There are so many ways to incorporate metallics into your fall wardrobe, I definitely suggest picking a few metallics. They can add the most wow factor to your wardrobe.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our Translating the Trends series!
