Lately I’ve been thinking about my age. I’m 31, going to be 32 this August but I don’t feel like I’m old but I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard or acting my age. And then I got caught up looking at the Dr. Martens 1460 8 Eye boot in pink pantent McMartens tartan.
What’s wrong with that?
I had a pair of Docs when I was in the 8th grade living in New England. I rocked those boots for a few years, loving the mix of tough with girly and always lusting over a green and blue tartan plaid pair that I saw. I never got those but always hoped one day to stumble on them again and then I saw these shiny, pink patent leather plaids ones and I wanted Docs all over again.
Am I being 13? I started to think about how would I wear these now, at 31.
- The most obvious choice would be with jeans. Right now these would be absolutely perfect as an alternative to a boring snow boot. I could still slosh around in this slush since they’re patent leather and still have something bright and cheery on my feet. I love bright and colorful when the weather stinks.
- With a casual skirt as I’m transitioning into spring. I totally wear some of my calf length boots while I’m transitioning into spring and it’s not cold enough for tights but not hot enough for open toes. This would be a great accent to my favorite grey denim skirt or a khaki a-line skirt I have too.
So perhaps these will be added to my wardrobe wish list. They’re too cute to resist! What do you think?
I’M SO GLAD I’M NO LONGER YOUNG AND COMPLETE STUPID AND SILLY.
