I’ve been big on drugstore beauty in the last few months. Partially because of the economy and partially because the drugstore lines have been upping their game. So despite being skeptical despite several other blogs giving it glowing reviews, I decided I’d give CoverGirl’s Smoky ShadowBlast a try.
I hated it.
Yup, there’s no easy way to say it but I will explain:
- The step 1 side is a rounded tip of eye shadow that I would assume should glide over my eye. Even with primer on (because most cream shadows need primer in order to last) this was like dragging chalk over my lids. I didn’t think it was smooth at all and it’s supposed to go over the entire lid for the first step in a smoky eye.
- The step 2 side I thought was a bit bulky and awkward in order to line the eyes or create that smoky eye effect.
- What product I did get on my eyelid creased immediately. It just looked cheap and reminded me of why I had stopped testing out drugstore beauty for a while.
I tried, I really tried with this product. I went to the website and watched the video demos. I tried to wear the product down a bit by rubbing it on the back of my hand and hoping that it worked better. Nope, still sucked. So I took it right on back with my receipt to my drugstore to get my money back. Perhaps I’ll just do a smoky eye tutorial for YouTube instead because this will not give you the smoky eye you’re hoping for.
so funny i was looking at the ad for the product this morning and thinking maybe I would try one- sad that it’s not so good.
.-= Jaci´s last blog ..the buzz on Google Buzz =-.
Don’t do it unless you really want to be disappointed!
I just saw and ad for this and wanted to go get it and try it out…so glad I saw your warning first!
