The weather is supposed to be beautiful today and tomorrow (YAY!), I’ve got a beauty event with Johnson’s Baby Oil on Saturday and I’ve got a movie date with my 8 year old godson to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie on Sunday. How can I not be happy that it’s Friday? So what else is fabulous about this Friday? That I found a really great substitute to my Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner.
Remember earlier when I showed you my fabulous eyeliner and mascara from my Bobbi Brown makeover last weekend? Well I fell in love with the heavier slightly winged out liner but I couldn’t afford to add the $21 pot of liner to my basket. I own a few colors of Bobbi Brown gel liner but not black (why? I have no clue).
I was intrigued by Maybelline’s Eye Studio™ Lasting Drama™ Gel Eyeliner because I hadn’t seen a drugstore brand gel eyeliner before. But sometimes I’ve been disappointed by my drugstore purchases, but lately they’ve been stepping up their game so I figured why not give it a try? I was not disappointed with my $9.99 purchase (and an additional $2 off with coupon). Not disappointed one bit. It was an even better purchase than I imagined and it came with an eyeliner brush!
The consistency of the liner is very smooth and the color is saturated and glossy. The key to great application is to do short strokes as close as you can to your lash line and practice definitely makes perfect. It’s also waterproof and that stuff does not budge! I swatched it on my hands when I brought it home and and when I ran my hands under water it didn’t budget or smudge a bit. When I wore the liner I did a full day of wear: all day of work, went to the gym, cooked and at 10:30pm it was still just as fresh as it was when I put it on that morning. Fabulousness indeed! Eye Studio Lasting Drama Eyeliner comes in 4 shades: Blackest Black, Brown, Eggplant and Charcoal and I’ve seen $2 off coupons in several fashion magazines. This is probably one of the best drugstore items I’ve bought in a long time.
Have a faublousness filled weekend, my friends!
