An Update

I’m slightly out of whack. Odd but true. I’ve felt a bit like I’ve had a case of the Mondays for weeks now and I just can’t shake it. I’m not sad but I’m just a bit overwhelmed I guess and I’m suffering from a bit of a creative block. I’m not even tweeting like I normally do. Jessica from DesignWonderland wrote about her creative road block last week and I’m right there with her. She’s one of my closest friends and we talk everyday and try to encourage each other to follow our dreams and passions.

I’m trying to find the focus. I’m trying to do what I love. I’m trying to live creatively.

I’m also finding that all of that is very hard to do. Sigh…

I’m also easily distracted. I’ve named my iPad Pierre and I feel like we’re having a very wonderful and sexy French love affair (and yes, my husband is aware of that). Maybe he’s keeping me from doing posts? Yes, I’ll blame him.

I do have 2 awesome giveaways (at least I think they’re 2 awesome things that I’d love to win) and I hope to reveal at least 1 next week and hopefully I’ll post tomorrow as well. In the meantime, for today since I’m searching for a bit of creativity enjoy my latest source of musical inspiration.

Willy Wonka’s Pure Imagination 🙂 And if you have any tips for getting yourself out of your creative slump please share. I’m taking suggestions.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your creative slump however, i love love love reading your posts and tweets. You seem to enjoy what you do and it comes across in your posts. Had you not mentioned the block that you are experiencing, I never would have known.

I’m jealous about your ipad =(

Anyway, hang in there! I’m sure all of us will be waiting to see what new makeup and fashion tips and tricks you’re going to share next!!!

  2. You know what’s been helping? Spending time with friends like you. It reminds my how blessed I am, to have people to laugh with. You just wait until we get to the other side of the block! We’ll be pure gold.

    Xoxo, Jessica

  3. I hope you find a way to break through the creative roadblock soon. I’m sorry that you are experiencing it, but I know all to well that it can be frustrating when it’s just not coming to you. Take your time and get some rest and I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration and back to writing soon! 🙂
.-= Sheena´s last blog ..Slow and Steady =-.

  4. yes i had this recently too, only for a day or two but that’s enough to really throw off my editorial “schedule” if i may call it something so professional. You know what I realized? You can’t sweat it. Back when I used to sing live my cowriter told me about his many instances of blanking on the lyrics on stage, and that eventually he realized that if he just relaxed and and kept singing they would come back to him. And it’s the same with ideas … I was kind of bugging out and then they came.

  5. Thanks everybody for your encouragement and kind words. I’m going to try my BEST to see what I can do to get over this slump. I just need to be inspired!
