Like I said yesterday I’m in a bit of a creative slump and have been trying to chill out and hope inspiration comes to me. I’m in what I call a Mojo Recovery Program. While I’m waiting for my inspiration to hit I’ve got a new book thanks to my cousin to hopefully help get my juices flowing.
Those who know me personally know that I like to think of myself as the black Martha Stewart of my generation. I love Martha. I adore Martha. I used to not take classes in undergrad when I knew the Martha Stewart Show was on! I want to spend a day with her just asking her how did she go so crafty and fabulous. How can I build an empire like hers?!
So you know I was excited when my cousin handed me the Martha Stewart’s Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts: Basic Techniques for Sewing, Applique, Embroidery, Quilting, Dyeing, and Printing, plus 150 Inspired Projects from A to Z, it’s a Martha-holic’s dream come true!
I knew about the book because I read the Martha Stewart Crafts Department blog (they had some amazing Easter Egg projects this year, you may have seen me tweet them). I was also super jealous that I didn’t live in NYC because they had a Tweet-Up when the book launched and there was sewing and Martha was there! Again, a Martha-holic’s dream.
This book is thick, they weren’t kidding when they called it an Encyclopedia. So hopefully this will get my creative mojo flowing and I can share some cool projects with you guys. Perhaps this will revive my Sewing Chronicles Category. Oh and this just might be a great Mother’s Day Gift if your Mom is crafty 🙂
