Friend Friday | Beach Essentials

This week’s Friend Friday questions deal with beach essentials. I have to admit, I’m not a swimmer. I sink like a rock. Don’t know how to swim and doubt I ever will. I rarely get in the water, but I love going to the beach. I grew up in NC and I think because our family always went to Myrtle Beach I crave the smell of salt water and sand annually. So on to the questions and remember if you want to participate with your own blog or see what other folks are saying, hop on over to Modly Chic to learn how to participate.

1. You’re headed to the beach/pool, what’s in your bag?
Well, the bag is definitely a LeSportsac since I can toss it in the wash after it’s been in the sand (and they’re having a summer sale, get 20% off with code SUMMERMADNESS). What’s in the bag? Sunscreen, water, lip balm and lots of magazines. Although I love my iPad (Pierre) I highly doubt I’d want to get sand or water on him, so he might have to stay in the hotel room or at home. But SPF 50 or above is definitely on my list. I got sun poisoning on my honeymoon in Barbados along with 40+ mosquito bites. Not cool (or sexy). I’m sunscreen it up like it’s my job.

2. Be honest… how do you feel about sunscreen? How often do you put it on?
I use an SPF 50 daily on my face and because I play golf I always have sunscreen available. I believe it in and I’m brown! Brown folks get skin cancer too!

3. Do you have any sunburn remedies?
Prayer and Burt’s Bees Miracle Salve will take the sting out of anything.

4. Do you use sunless tanning products? Which do you use, why is it your favorite?
I almost said totally not applicable since I kind of have a starter tan but then I remembered that I blogged about spray tanning my legs last year…

5. The best part about the beach is…
The salt in the air, the sun, the sand. I love it. Plus it reminds me of my family and how fantastic our beach trips always were!

What do you love about the beach?
