I am a mascara girl. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara was the first mascara I ever purchased, when I was 15 years old. There’s something about mascara that is so glamorous and sexy. It is the finishing touch to my makeup application. Now I’ve been very loyal to Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash mascara but I wanted to find some more affordable drugstore mascaras to be a bit more budget friendly.
I popped into CVS during my lunch break and saw a display for the new Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. First, the packaging was what caught me. I love the magenta color and the blue foil writing, it’s the designer in me. Then I read the package, it’s supposed to give you the sense of wearing false lashes by providing a voluminous mascara with a spoon shaped brushed to create no gaps on your lash line.
Okay. I’ll try it.
I have long lashes and I like false lashes but let’s be honest here, I know that no mascara can truly make me look like I have on falsies. What I do like about the Falsies mascara is that the brush really does coat my lashes, it also curls them and opened my eyes up more than without mascara. My lashes tend to tangle easily so I like brushes that aren’t just straight, it helps to untangle the mess of lashes. The color is also a nice inky black and it did make my lashes look slightly thicker. My only complaint was that I got very slight clumping on occasion but overall, I’d buy this again. Now did it make me look like I had on false lashes? No. But, I did like the results for an everyday mascara.
I picked this up at my CVS in downtown DC, has anyone else seen it in their area yet?
