Fall Obsession, SHOES!

Everyone keeps saying fall is here, fall is here!

Um…it was 90+ degrees in DC yesterday. Fall isn’t here just yet.

But I know it’s coming. I feel the nights getting cooler and the days are getting shorter (we were grilling in the dark last night but that steak was GOOD). I do get super excited about fall fashion but over the years I’ve slowly started to build a wardrobe I’m pretty proud of and I don’t need to buy a ton of pieces every season. I usually just buy a piece or two to fill the gap or to upgrade something I loved. What I do find myself wanting to buy are shoes, glorious shoes.

Since I’m not working right now I really haven’t been thinking about clothes. Will I work in an office again? Will it be casual or more professional? What if I don’t get a job and freelance? What if I go back to school? These are the things that stop me from buying clothes (aside from not having any money) but that doesn’t stop me from lusting after shoes.

Currently, I’m obsessed with the Steve Madden Saree lace boot in this taupe brown leather. It’s like a grown up version of the Doc Martens I wore in the 8th and 9th grade (yes, I wore Docs but with colorful tights and skirts. I was that girl.).

I want to wear these now with skinny jeans, leggings or skirts and colorful tights. I want to stomp around in puddles and piles of leaves and not worry about my feet getting wet or me being uncomfortable in heels. I think I want these boots because they would make me feel a bit like a bad ass, no?

I’ll talk more about what fall items are calling my name in the next few weeks. There really are some awesome pieces out there. What are you lusting over for fall?

  1. I was just gonna say – those are a total throw back to the Dr. Martens in the 90’s! I’m kind of excited that 90’s grunge seems to be sneaking back in. The plaids…the boots!

  2. yes, yes, yes! I love them! I am loving the return of the combat boot, and the best part is that it’s making a comeback in a whole new way. I love the idea of pairing them with really feminine frilly pieces.. floral dresses and skirts…fab!
