I am going to blame Jennine of Eat, Sleep, Denim for my latest obsession.
There, I said it.
I needed to get that off of my chest. I’ve been feeling a bit guilty for loving them so because folks either love them or hate them. I am not one to necessarily hop on trends or do many “skinny” things but as I learned with leggings and even skinny jeans, jeggings are not the enemy. They are your friends. And I’ve been living in mine for the last 2 weeks.
Now I am currently job searching and on a tight budget, believe me I was not searching for jeggings, but when I stumbled across a pair in Costco for $14 (similar in look the Gloria Vanderbilt Terry Perfect Fit Skinny Jeans) I figured why not? I had $14 and if I really didn’t like them I could easily return them. It wasn’t a breaking the bank kind of purchase. I honestly thought I was going to take them back the next day.
I put them on and instantly felt…slimmer. Seriously. And every time I wear them someone tells me I look like I’ve lost weight or that my jeans look great. They fit close to the body but aren’t tight or uncomfortable, it’s like wearing terry cloth pants they’re so soft. I also love that these are a mid rise so they go up high enough to not give me that dreaded muffin top. Extra bonus, since they fit so slim, they will slip very easily into my boots this fall (HOORAY!).
Now my jeggings only cost me $14 so they won’t last me a lifetime, but I bet this trend won’t last a lifetime either. Either way, I’m going to be rocking these babies as much as I can for as long as I can. Maybe I’ll even make jeggings part of my official unemployment uniform.
I’ll do an outfit post with them soon, obviously that’s about all I’m wearing right now!
