Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening in Richmond. Why? Because I had a chance to meet the Bare Escentuals creator, Leslie Blodgett (pictured above with me…and I hate how my hair looked but you can’t win them all can you…). I also hung out with friends and had dinner later but really, I went down to get a chance to meet the creator of a brand I really love.
Last month I checked out the Bare Escentuals Quickie Van when they came to DC and when the folks at BE said Leslie would be 90 minutes away and I could meet her I figured, why not?! And if you’re a daily reader of this blog, you know I’ve talked about BE products a lot. Their eye colors are insanely gorgeous (I just saw Exotic Tara and Turquoise Sea in their boutique this weekend and almost died), I’m obsessed with their mascaras and their foundation and mineral veil give me a gorgeous glow. I have not found a product by BE that I haven’t loved and to me that says a lot about a brand. I’m never bored with their range of products and I love that they really do cover a wide range of skin colors, when many beauty brands still don’t.
Here’s what I love about Leslie, she loves to accessorize as much as I do! She layered two multi strand necklaces from Anthropologie for a bit of bling and had on an awesome cocktail ring and she told me she loved my bird’s nest necklace too 🙂 She was kind and gracious and you could genuinely tell she loved meeting every single one of her fans that came out to the Richmond store to meet her. Plus all of the folks that she was working with at Bare Escentuals were super nice and chatty. It was a great visit and I’m glad I popped down to Richmond.
Leslie’s got a few stops left on her tour, so if you’re on the east coast you can meet her too! I’ve listed her next stops below, and you’ll want to check the website for more information on how to RSVP.
How cool that you got to meet Leslie! Sounds like a great visit!

HOW WONDERFUL THAT YOU MET LESLIE! I TOO HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HER BACK IN 2000 WHEN BE FIRST CAME TO EL PASO, TEXAS. I WAS 51 YEARS OLD AND HAD STRUGGLED WITH MAKE UPS SINCE I WAS 15 YEARS OLD. FIRST OF ALL I AM VERY OLIVE SKINNED AND WITH TIME MY COMPEXION WAS REALLY BAD BY THAT TIME. I HAVE DRY UNEVEN TONE SKIN AND AS MUCH AS I LIKED WEARING MAKE UP I WAS NEVER NEVER CONTENT. A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE GRAND OPENENING I HAD GONE IN AND MY FACE WAS DONE BY A SALES LADY THERE AND I WAS SOLD OVER $200.00 OF MERCHANDISE. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH IT SO I WENT BACK THE DAY LESLIE WAS TO BE THERE. LIKE YOU SAID SHE IS SO GRACIOUS. WHEN I TOLD HER MY STORY SO SHE SAT ME DOWN AND DID MY FACE, SHE TOOK ME STEP BY STEP AND EVEN TOOK OUT HER OWN COSMETIC BAG AND SHOWED ME WHAT TO DO!! I LOOKED SOO BEAUTIFUL I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. UNDER MY MAKE OVER I NEW THAT THE OLIVE SKIN WITH DARK SPOTS WAS STILL HERE BUT I DIDN’T CARE BECAUSE FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE I WAS SO CONTENT WITH THE RESULTS. I REALLY LOOKED GOOD. REALLY GOOD. SO I HAVE BEEN USING BE EVER SINCE THAT JULY IN 2000!! MY COMLEXION HAS IMPROVED SOME BUT I KNOW THAT I WILL NEVER HAVE THE SKIN I HAD WHEN I WAS YOUNG. THANK YOU LESLIE.
