Yesterday I was feeling blue, royal blue that is.
I went for the matchy matchy and I even matched my makeup to my very vivid shades of blue silk skirt. I figured if this color was making me feel so great, why not keep the momentum going and add it to my makeup?
The folks at NYX Cosmetics were kind enough to send over a few products for me to try and I’ve fallen hard for 2 things (so far). The Studio Liquid Liner (I’m wearing Extreme Black and I layered Extreme Blue over top to help tone it down just a touch) and the Rouge Cream Blush in orange. First let me say, if you like liquid liner or want to try liquid liner – this is the one to get. The color packs a punch AND it lasts all day. I took these photos at the end of the day (6pm) and I did my makeup at 6:45am that morning. Still vibrant and I didn’t do a single touch up. I’m scared to see what the gold will look like on me but I’m going to try it because what’s the worst that can happen? And if I don’t like it, one swipe of baby oil will remove it.
The blush is another favorite of mine. I love a good cream blush and was excited when I saw this bright orange arrive in my mailbox. The great thing about blush is that it comes out sheerer than what you see, so don’t be intimidated by the high pigment color. It gave me a great flush of subtle and sheer color on the apples of my cheeks and cream blush always looks more natural to me. If I really wanted the color to pop, I’d layer it with powder blush, but I thought this did well on it’s own.
The other great thing about NYX Cosmetics is that you get a lot of bang for a little buck. $6.50 for blush and $4.50 for eyeliner?! I have a few more products that I’m testing out but so far so good and you’ll definitely hear more about NYX in future posts. Have you ever tried NYX before? What did you think of their makeup?
