My unemployment only lasted a little less than 3 months and I’m heading back to a job where they’re super excited to have me and it’s in the field of what I wanted to transition too. YAY! I’m doing a little happy dance right now if you can’t tell. I didn’t want to say anything until it was my actual first day because it just didn’t seem real to me. In this economy I feel very fortunate to be able to get back to work so quickly. I am truly, truly happy to be going back to a 9 to 5 job. Now I have to get back to balancing life/work/blogging etc, but if I did before I know I can do it again.
Okay, now on to my outfit. This is not my first day of work outfit (with the evenings getting darker faster I’ll have to figure out how to do early morning photos) but this will be something I wear to work. I actually wore this to a meeting last week and totally loved it.
I love, love, love the pleating detail on this pencil skirt and the fact that it has pockets. Why do pockets seem to make everything better? I also think blouses with ties are one of the most feminine details ever. I feel like such a lady in this outfit. I paired the blouse and skirt with a grey quarter length sleeve cardigan, black tights and my corset black kitten heels.
I also paired the look with a very slightly winged out liner. I talked about winging my liner and got a few questions. This is how I wear it when I’m working or in a more professional setting. I pair it with a fairly neutral shadow (Bare Escentuals Disco from the Kaleidoscope set is my go to shadow right now) and just slightly wing out the tips. If I’m going out I extend it a bit and connect it to my lower lash line a bit more. I’ll try to do a tutorial/pictures of it this week. I finally finished my photos for the gift guide so I can now go back to thinking about other things, sort of. I think I’m just all over the place right now, I’m just so happy to be working again. YAY!
