Filling in for DWJ : @WardrobeOxygen

While I’m on vacation I’m having a few of my favorite bloggers share their beauty and accessories tips with you. These are folks I read every day, so I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I do. Show them some love and leave comments! xoxo, dwj

Wardrobe OxygenHi everyone, I am Allie from Wardrobe Oxygen and I am honored to be filling in for the lovely DWJ today! On my blog I write about fashion advice and tips to achieve personal style, but I also share my own personal style with regular photos of what I wear each day. When DWJ asked me if I wanted to share an outfit with you Art of Accessories readers, I immediately knew which outfit I would be showing!

This is one of my favorite outfits right now. The dress was only $30 and if you can believe it, it’s from the Mossimo line for Target! Unfortunately this dress is no longer available, but do check out their amazing selection of dresses – you will be amazed by the style and quality!

I am a huge fan of champagne-colored pearls – you can get away with a lower-cost pearl necklace without it looking cheap. I have two different sizes of pearls (a large strand and a smaller strand), looped around the neck – both strands from Nordstrom (they seem to go on discount every time Nordstrom has their anniversary sale). The bracelet and gold necklace are both from J. Crew but bought for a song. The necklace was purchased during one of their massive sales; the bracelet I got off eBay for about $30.

I love a great pair of tights, and each season I look to Nordstrom for quality AND wallet-friendly pairs. Their control top tights do not cause a muffin top, are durable, and opaque enough to be work-appropriate but not so opaque they look like leggings. The shoes are another deal – I got them at Neiman Marcus Last Call for almost 50% off the regular retail price. They are Miss Sixty’s “Jaiden” bootie and are seriously the most comfortable and wearable shoe I have ever owned. I can dash across the street in them, stand in them all day, walk on the bumpy sidewalks of DC for hours without any pain. They also look great with jeans for a night out with the girls. ( shoes no longer available online at Last Call, but still selling at retailers like Nordstom)

I love all the pieces in this outfit because they are so versatile and classic – this dress could be dressed up with some D’orsay pumps and sparkly earrings for a wedding, or paired with casual riding boots for a trip to the mall. Due to the length of the pearl strands, they can be worn long in a flapper-style, or looped multiple times for a very classic look that would be great for the boardroom. I believe in purchasing items that look on-trend now, but are wearable past a season, and I think each piece in this outfit can do just that!
