I realize that I focus mostly on my eyes when I’m applying my makeup. My lips are often neglected and left quite naked but my eyes always seem to pack a punch. I’m also quite obsessed with mod inspired eye makeup and have lately been all about big, bright eyes. So when the folks at Bare Escentuals sent me one of the new colors of the Bare Escentuals High Shine Eye Color in Ice, I was excited to see how the new color would look on me and help enhance my bright eyes obsession.
You might remember the original High Shine Eye Colors when I featured them in the Gifts & Glamour Guide, my favorite color in the original is a gorgeous teal shade but they’re all beautiful. They’re packed with color and metallic shimmer to make a dramatic eye or to even just do a simple eye for day kind of look. I’ve gotten several of my girlfriends hooked on these, so I’m sure the new color offerings will be even more popular.
The High Shine Eyecolors come with a sponge tip applicator but I also like to use a brush once I’ve swept it onto my lid to ensure that the color is evenly distributed. I also like to add a bit of black eyeliner across my lash line to really make the color pop. Ice is a very soft shimmering pale pink shade that I’d wear alone or use even as a highlighting shade with other shadow. I also want to try out the rose gold shade as well, I think that would be a pretty soft glowing color on the lids for summer. And one of the reasons I love these shadows so much is that they last and last when you apply them. They’re definitely a fantastic summer shadow to add to your makeup bag. Swipe on a single color, apply mascara and you’re good to go for the rest of the day.
Have any of you tried the High Shine Eyecolors? How do you like them?
