My Holiday Weekend in Snapshots

Fireworks
I think I still have Katie Perry’s “Firework” stuck in my head from over the weekend. I heard that song a million times and danced to it every single time it came on (blame me knowing the routine on Just Dance 2). Clearly it was a good weekend. I thought I’d share some of the pictures that I took over the weekend to show you what consumed my holiday weekend. Plus, I tried BorrowLenses.com for the first time this weekend and borrowed a Macro 100 Lens for my Canon and LOVED IT! If you’re a blogger with a DSLR or someone who is into photography I’d highly recommend them and I had a wonderful conversation with someone named Neal at the company on Thursday which made my experience with them even better.
Fireworks
The fireworks pictures are from the Nationals baseball game I went to on Saturday with my husband and cousins. We got $2 tickets for a double header and the seats were under a shaded area – FANTASTIC!

I’m not a huge baseball fan but I do love Nats stadium (the views are gorgeous) and they have all of the local DC restaurants so I chowed down on nachos from Hard Times Cafe and W shaped pretzels and fresh lemonade. I was quite happy.

I also got to rock my Oakley shades with the purple tint. I love these glasses.
I love cork shoes & clearance finds from DSW.
I also had a random shoe find at DSW. These adorable cork sandals with blue suede only cost me $30! And they originally retailed for $150 – SCORE! I unexpectedly had to walk from the tidal basin to the Washington Monument in the heat but these were quite comfy. Nothing is as comfortable as a cork sole/heel to me, nothing.
Hanging with Sarah Lynn
I also did a little photoshoot with a girlfriend’s 3 month old baby girl. This little girl has the sweetest disposition and has the chubbiest most kissable cheeks ever. And she was absolutely precious when she was sleeping – melted my heart and made me want to go back for more.

And you can always browse my photos on my Flickr stream.

That’s my weekend in just a few of my favorite snapshots – what did you do? How was your 4th of July?

  1. Can you guess which picture is my favorite. Although the fireworks pictures were beautiful. I tried to watch the Macy’s one on TV, but quickly lost interest. It’s just not the same as in person.
