Since I’m taking a little break I thought I’d pull out a few posts from the past to help re-energize me and perhaps give you a glimpse into my blogging past. This post originally appeared on June 6, 2011.
I had a wonderful weekend (and I hope you did too). I think it was wonderful because I spent time with my family and friends and I took lots of pictures this weekend. I didn’t take any outfit pics but I did take pics of my friend’s beautiful baby girl at her Christening and the husband and I finally checked out the US Botanical Gardens. I do not have a green thumb, in fact I kill most plants but I’ve had some success with the orchid my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day this year. But that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate their beauty.
So I headed out with my Canon and a new lens and decided to focus on the beauty of nature. I realize I was drawn to all of the unusual plants and flowers with colorful blooms. I live for hydrangeas and couldn’t get enough of their beauty. The clusters of color look like the perfect wedding bouquet to me. It was all just absolutely perfect.
Of course this now means I need to check out the US National Arboretum just to see what other beautiful items it has in store for me. I’m trying to really take advantage of working and living in this great city and everything that it has to offer…and for free!
The flowers and images were just too good to keep to myself, so instead of a bit of makeup related beauty I thought I’d give you nature and all her beauty today. And if you want to check out more of my pics from the Botanical Garden you can check them out on my Flickr Set.
So this is what I did this weekend, what did you do?
